On September 5 2023, BCCI confirmed the 15-member India cricket team squad for the 2023 World Cup hosted by India. The 2023 Cricket World Cup will be played from 5 Oct to 19 Nov 2023. The India World Cup ODI squad is a strong one, and they will be one of the favorites to win the tournament. India ODI World Cup 2023 Squad

Rohit Sharma will captain the 15-man squad, with Hardik Pandya as vice-captain. Most of the team is expected, with KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, and Jasprit Bumrah returning from long-term injuries. Tilak Varma, pacer Prasidh Krishna, and reserve player Sanju Samson are the omissions from the current Asia Cup 2023 squad. 

Jasprit Bumrah will spearhead the pace bowling group, with Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, and bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur. Kuldeep Yadav is the side’s specialist spin option, with spin all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin for company. 

Captain Rohit Sharma leads the batting group, with Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, and Shreyas Iyer as first-choice in playing 11. Suryakumar Yadav is the reserve middle-order batter alongside Ishan Kishan. Ishan Kishan doubles up as the second wicketkeeper in the squad after KL Rahul.
