The fifth edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) will be played from 1 to 21 July 2024 in Sri Lanka. The league was founded in 2018 by Sri Lanka Cricket and the first season was played in 2020. Like last season, Kandy Falcons, Colombo Strikers, Dambulla Sixers, Galle Marvels and Jaffna Kings are the five teams featuring in Lanka Premier League 2024.
The first match of the 2024 Lanka Premier League was between defending champions Kandy Falcons and Dambulla Sixers on 1st July 2024 at 7:30 PM IST at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele. LPL 2024 matches will feature two “power-blast overs”, i.e. 16th and 17th over each innings, where four fielders (instead of five) are allowed outside 30-yard circle.

Lanka Premier League 2024 Schedule
The 2024 edition of the Lanka T20 League will have a total of 24 games (20 group stage and 4 playoffs fixtures) played during the tournament. The afternoon matches have a start time of 3 PM IST and the evening matches will start at 7:30 PM IST.
Every team will play against each other only once in the group stage. The top 4 teams will qualify for the playoffs - Eliminator, Qualifier 1, Qualifier 2 and the Final. Three venues - R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy and Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla will host the matches. The final will be played on 21 July 2024 at Colombo.
