Delhi's Meg Lanning is the Oragne Cap winner of the Women’s T20 League 2023, with 345 runs in 9 matches at a strike rate of 139.11. Mumbai's Hayley Matthews is the Purple Cap winner, with 16 wickets in 10 matches at an economy rate of 5.94.

Start and End Date of the Women's T20 League 2023 Season

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the complete schedule of the first Women’s T20 League 2023 on 14 Feb. 2023.

The inaugural season of the Women’s T20 League tournament started on 4th March 2023, with a clash between Gujarat and Mumbai at DY Patil Stadium Mumbai 7:30 PM IST. The final was played on 26th March 2023 at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.

Format for the Women’s T20 League 2023

Five teams - Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Gujarat and UP will play each other twice in a round-robin format. At the end of the group stage, the team ranked 1st will go directly into the final. Teams ranked 2nd and 3rd will play the Eliminator to qualify for the final.
Venues for the Indian Women's T20 League 2023 

The 2023 season of the Women’s t20 league will be played entirely in the city of Mumbai. All the matches will be held at two stadiums - Brabourne Stadium and at DY Patil Stadium.

2023 Women’s T20 League Squads

On 13 February 2023, auction for the 2023 edition of the Women’s T20 League took place in Mumbai. A total of 87 players were sold out of which 30 were overseas. 14 Australia, 7 England, 2 New Zealand, 4 South Africa and 2 West Indies players were sold. Only one player from the Associate nations - Tara Norris of USA - was picked up. 

Smriti Mandhana (₹3.4 crore to Bangalore), Deepti Sharma (₹2.6 crore to UP), Jemimah Rodrigues (₹2.2 crore to Delhi), Shafali Verma (₹2 crore to Delhi) and Richa Ghosh (₹1.9 crore to Bangalore) were the top five expensive Indian buys. 

 

Ashleigh Gardner (₹3.2 crore to Gujarat), Nat Sciver-Brunt (₹3.2 crore to Gujarat), Beth Mooney (₹2 crore to Gujarat), Sophie Ecclestone (₹1.8 crore to UP) and Ellyse Perry (₹1.7 crore to Bangalore) were the top five expensive overseas buys.
