The tournament begins with Sri Lanka taking on Afghanistan on 27th August in Dubai. The much-awaited India vs. Pakistan clash will be on 28th August in Dubai. This will be the first time since the 2021 T20 World Cup that India and Pakistan face each other.
Team India are the defending champions of the Asia Cup, which was last played in 2018 in an ODI format. India won the title by beating Bangladesh in a last-ball thriller in Dubai. This edition of the Asia Cup was moved to the UAE from Sri Lanka because of the ongoing economic crisis in the island nation.
Asia Cup 2022 Teams
Six nations will take part in the Asia Cup 2022: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and one Qualifier. UAE, Kuwait, Singapore and Hong Kong are the four teams competing for a place in Group A, alongside India and Pakistan. The qualifying round matches will begin on 20th August in Oman.

Asia Cup 2022 Format
The format is same as followed in the 2018 Asia Cup.
- Each team will play the other two teams in their group once.
- The top two teams from each group will enter the Super 4 round.
- The teams in the Super 4 round will play each other once.
- The top two sides qualifying for the big final on 11th September.
There is a high probability of at least another India - Pakistan match in the Super 4 round and one more time in the final if both teams qualify.

Asia Cup 2022 schedule of the 13 matches, 10 matches will be played in Dubai, while 3 will be played at Sharjah. All matches will start at 6 PM local time and 7:30 PM IST.
