India Squad For Asia Cup 2022

India team has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022, scheduled to begin on August 27. India will take on Pakistan in their 2022 Asia Cup tournament opener at 7:30 PM IST on August 28.

 

V. Kohli is back after a break from the West Indies tour as well as the ODIs against Zimbabwe. KL Rahul returns after missing out due to a groin injury and then Covid-19. He has not played any cricket after the Indian T20 League 2022. The India cricket team will be led by R. Sharma with KL Rahul being the vice captain. 

 

The finishing duo of H. Pandya and D. Karthik have retained their spot in the squad while A. Singh, A. Khan, and R. Bishnoi have been selected for the continental tournament. In bowling, J. Bumrah and H. Patel will miss the T20 tournament due to back and rib injuries. 

 

S. Samson, I. Kishan, and K. Yadav - all of whom were part of the recent 5-match T20I series in the West Indies - were left out of the 15-man squad. S. Iyer, A. Patel, and D. Chahar have been named as standbys for the tournament.  

 

The six participating nations are Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, and the winner of the Asia Cup qualifier. UAE, Kuwait, Singapore, and Hong Kong are the 4 teams taking part in the 2022 Asia Cup Qualifier. Hong Kong won the Asia Cup 2022 Qualifier.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has also announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming 2022 T20 Asia Cup. B. Azam is set to lead with all-rounder S. Khan as his deputy. S. Afridi is out of the Asia Cup 2022 becuase of knee injury. M. Hasnain is his replacement.

Bangladesh Team Squad for Asia Cup 2022

The Bangladesh Cricket Board has also announced a 17-member squad for the upcoming 2022 T20 Asia Cup. S. Al Hasan is set to lead the team in this tournament as well as the T20 World Cup 2022.

 

The Bangladesh Team have played three Asia Cup finals - 2012, 2016, and 2018, but have lost all of them.

The Afghanistan team has announced a 17-member squad for the upcoming 2022 T20 Asia Cup. M. Nabi is set to lead the team in this tournament with N. Zadran as his deputy.

All-rounder Shimwari returns to the team after a gap of 2 years. Most of the squad is the same as of the ongoing 5-match T20 series against the Ireland cricket team.
