Women's Asia Cup 2024

29 Jul 2024  Sri Lanka Women beat India Women by 8 wickets in the Final of the Women's T20 Asia Cup 2024. This is Sri Lanka's first Women's Asia Cup title after finishing runner-up on 5 previous occasions.

 

The 9th edition of the Women’s Asia Cup was played from 19 to 28 July, 2024 in Sri Lanka. The tournament is in the T20 format for the fifth successive time, as preparation for the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup in October 2024. India Women were the defending champions, beating Sri Lanka in the 2022 edition.


A total of eight teams took part in the 2024 Women’s Asia Cup and there were total of 15 matches in the tournament. UAE vs Nepal was the opening match on Friday, 19 July at 2 PM IST. The arch-rivals match India vs Pakistan was on Friday, 19 July at 7 PM IST.

For Women’s Asia Cup 2024, India and Pakistan are placed in Group A with Nepal and UAE. Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand and Malaysia are in Group B.

Women’s Asia Cup 2024 Format

The eight teams are placed in two groups and will play against their group rivals in a round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals. The winners of the semifinals will play in the final.

All the matches of the 2024 Women’s Asia Cup will be played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla.
